Your 2022 Reset Routine
Our first blog post of 2022! It's a fitting one.
I’m not personally a big fan of New Year's Resolutions, not because I don’t think they are helpful….but why wait to change your habits? The end of the year is always when I push myself the most. I wanted to soak in the beginning of 2022 with those that I love, and doing things that I haven’t done in a while. To be able to start the year the best way, and carry that throughout the year.
While I’m not a “new year, new me” type of gal, I do love a good clarity moment with myself. A reset if you will.
I find myself often doing resets when the seasons change. We are ever evolving humans, and therefore what we are striving for, is consistently evolving. Plus I like checking in with myself throughout the year. I thought I would share some things below that I’m doing to check in with myself for a reset. Some of these are items I incorporate everyday, some are seasonal. If any of them stand out to you, take what you need! Or it can be a list to get your ideas flowing about creating your own reset!
Bryn’s 2022 Reset:
Plan your day - I created an EFFECTIVE to-do list that consists of successful tactics like the Ivy Lee Method, grateful, book/podcast of the day, etc. I started this last year and it has been one of my favorite ways to set the tone for the day. It goes something like this -
Today's Mantra:
Today I Want to Feel:
3 Gratefuls:
2 911's: ( my absolute must get done)
Pleasure:
Above is an example of mine. It’s quick, it’s to the point, you can even do it in the notes section of your phone, and most importantly… you don’t forget it throughout your day.
Breathwork - 10 minutes a day has given me more clarity than ever. I love to do it either first thing in the morning when I’m still in bed or in the middle of the day. It helps immensely with energy and focus. This is something I do everyday, especially if I feel myself becoming stressed or anxious. Wim Hof is how I discovered breath work, linking the video to his breathwork session HERE. (It’s free and not affiliated of course)
Read read READ - In my opinion, this is the most important. There is something that is so incredibly calming about reading, but also the knowledge you gain from reading 1 book!?! Unmatched. I am currently reading the E-Myth, and how to become a better small business owner, as well as The Book of Lymph (recommended by a dear See New subscriber - thank you Laura)! If you’re not a book person, podcasts & audiobooks are fantastic too!
“Free time is a horrible thing to waste.”
Create your space - Environment is everything for me. It’s shocking what a new coffee table book and candle can do to set the “vibe”, if you will. As the winter comes to an end, I switched out my Balsam fir candle for a Sandalwood candle and am loving it. Creating a new sense of “space” is important to me and how I flow.
What do you really want? - Forget the white noise. Take this week to journal, go on walks, and write our your thoughts about where you want to be. It is YOUR life.
